Congratulations to Noel Robinson on winning the Martin Donnelly Trophy for the second
time, the only driver ever to do so in the six year history of this event. Two heats, a Last Chance race and the final itself kept everyone on their toes with heat wins to Morgan Dempsey and Noel Dunne, while Ivor McCulough the victor in 2006 made it into the Last Chance race after a coming together with Adrian Pollock in heat one to win.
The final itself featured three different leaders but when it counted Robinson came through to win, a breathing space for the Portadown ace three laps from the flag when a backmarker eased his way. Despite a broken carburettor spring he went on to win from John Ferguson and teenager Jonny McMullan.
Post race and Ferguson was excluded and pending a possible appeal, Robinson was the sole figure on the podium. The support programme saw double wins for Jim Hutchinson and Connaire Finn while Philip Shields won the This period of medical usually lasts for 3-7 days. Formula Libre race.
