MINI owner Craig Fox of E. Fox Engineers Ltd has added support as an associate sponsor to MINI Magic – Ireland’s MINI track day and meet.
As announced, sponsored by MINI Ireland, it is back on September 15 but now at White River Park between Dundalk and Drogheda in a celebration of 60 years of an icon.
Event Director William Neill said; “There has been great enthusiasm shown for MINI Magic and Craig Fox has certainly been a supporter. Not only among the track entries already received in a special Lightning McQueen-inspired classic MINI, but the crew will also travel from their Baldonnell Business Park base to support the event as a trader on September 15.”
E. Fox Engineers’ Craig Fox added; “The MINI has some great history attached to it over its 60 years – whether it is one of the iconic MINIS that won the Monte Carlo Rally or a car from its everyday use in life. The charisma has never faltered.”
Talking fondly of the MINI brand he continued; “We all have a story about the MINI. How often do you hear ‘My dad drove a MINI or I learnt to drive in a MINI?’ The character has created a great MINI scene in Ireland and an event that involves the MINI is always good fun and worth attending, so we are delighted to get involved in this year’s MINI Magic and are looking forward to September 15.”
Owners of all MINI models are invited to be part of the day, whether their car is a show and shine example, a daily runner or strictly for the track. Classic and modern are both welcome alongside the many variants.
“The 2019 location is perfect with the motorway links,” said Neill. “MINIS from across the island will be able to access the track via neighbouring cities such as Newry, just 35 minutes away, and Dublin an hour.”
TRACK ENTRY DETAILS
The limited track entry spaces – available online in advance only – are open to eligible road and track cars with the main requirements an Irish or UK driving license, long sleeves and a track day helmet. White River Park’s on- site store will have helmet hire (to be booked with the circuit directly).
“We have made it as easy as possible to allow owners time to enjoy their car on track,’” Neill points out. “And with the track’s nature, both standard MINI owners and track cars will not look out of place. It is not a race or timed and cars will be started at intervals and, as standard at track days, passing will not be permitted on corners to keep a fun element to proceedings over competition. It is about time on track with likeminded owners and, for those who visit, an opportunity to view history of the car on the move.”
The driver entry fee for on track remains the same as 2018 at a cost-effective €95 (euro) – making it the least expensive full day track in Ireland. A front seat passenger is permitted with dual entries accepted.
SHOW MEET ENTRY DETAILS
Those who visit the meet in their MINI can enter on the day and save on general admission with €10 (euro) or £10 (GBP) covering the driver and up to two passengers with access to a track viewing area, an event programme and a chance to win spot prize passenger runs.
