Kirkistown Racing Circuit on the outskirts of Portavogie, County Down, hosted the awards ceremony for the 2020 SW Adair Tyres Northern Ireland Sprint Championship on Saturday 7 August, 2021.
Having managed to run enough events during the pandemic to actually have a championship last year, the only championship in Northern Ireland that managed to do so, government imposed end-of-year lockdown meant prize winners never actually received their awards.
It was decided just a few weeks ago, that at the end of the second round of this year’s Championship, the previous year’s winners could stay behind to receive their rewards from championship coordinator and fellow competitor, David Evans, in the absence of series sponsor, Bill Adair.
The prize giving also saw the first ever presentation of the Heaslip Ladies Challenge trophy. A massive congratulations must go to Sheryl on her win but and a huge thank you must also go to Jimmy Heaslip for sponsoring not only a scorcher of a trophy, which I would love to have on my mantelpiece, as well as beautiful bouquets of flowers for the top 3 as well. Well done and thank you Jimmy Heaslip.
