It is estimated that around 3000 Vauxhall vehicles registered on or after May 2014 may have problems with the steering system. Vauxhall have explained that the Corsa/Adam models have been fitted with a steering system that doesn”t meet their specification.
In a statement that was released by Vauxhall, they issued a precaution that “the vehicles should not be driven prior to inspection”. The company became aware of the problem through routine testing at their manufacturing plant and have the AA on hand to help out with the problem. If a vehicle is affected by the problem, the AA will arrange recovery to a local Vauxhall dealer and replacement vehicles will be provided if required. Customers can contact the AA on 0800 53 388 between 07.00 and midnight. Vauxhall also have a Customer Assistance Line for advice – 0800 026 0034 between 09.00 and 17.00hrs. Customers will need their VIN number to check if their vehicle is affected.
