Six Appeal: Nissan Adds Extra Peace of Mind for Electric Vehicle Customers

Nissan is giving electric vehicle buyers another reason to make the switch, with the launch of a new Service Activated Warranty programme for eligible Battery Electric Vehicles.

Introduced on 1 July, the initiative gives customers the opportunity to enjoy warranty cover for up to six years, provided servicing is carried out in line with Nissan’s requirements.

The offer applies to the All-New MICRA, including all vehicles sold since launch, the All-New LEAF arriving in showrooms this summer, and the 2026 model year ARIYA.

Future Nissan all-electric passenger vehicles will also be eligible, extending the benefit across the brand’s next generation of EVs.

The timing adds further appeal for buyers. Nissan’s electric vehicle range also qualifies for the Government’s Electric Car Grant, which has now been available for 12 months. Combined with the new warranty campaign, the grant strengthens the value proposition for customers looking for lower running costs, long-term reassurance and confidence in electric motoring.

Nicolas Belaud, Nissan GB Aftersales Director, said: “We are hugely excited about our new Service Activated Warranty proposition, which we are sure will appeal to customers interested in purchasing one of our award-winning all-electric cars.

“Nissan has more than 15 years of experience looking after EVs in the UK, more than any other manufacturer, and the service activated warranty highlights our confidence in our electric vehicles and offers even more customer benefit in bringing a car to the experts for servicing.

“For a Nissan owner, taking their car to a Nissan dealership for routine servicing is a no-brainer. With state-of-the art facilities, access to genuine manufacturer parts and fully qualified Nissan technicians, owners can rest assured that their cars are in the best possible hands with us.”

How the programme works

All qualifying vehicles continue to benefit from Nissan’s standard manufacturer warranty, which provides cover for three years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. Once that original warranty expires, customers can activate a further 12 months of cover each year, up to a maximum vehicle age of six years or 100,000 miles, by completing an eligible Nissan service within the retailer network and in line with Nissan’s recommended service schedule.

For Nissan BEV buyers, the programme is designed to offer additional value and peace of mind, while helping distinguish the company’s aftersales proposition from many competitors.

To ensure coverage through Nissan Service Activated Warranty, customers should follow a few simple steps:

Adhere to the manufacturer’s recommended service schedule.

Ensure the service before the manufacturer warranty expiry date, typically the third inspection, is completed within the Nissan retailer network to maintain continuous coverage.

Return to a Nissan Dealership or Authorised Repairer for scheduled servicing from that point onwards, up to a maximum vehicle age of six years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first.

Customers who have previously used a service provider outside the Nissan dealer network may still be able to access the warranty, provided the vehicle has a full-service history. In that case, taking the car to the Nissan network for an eligible service can activate the cover. Where a vehicle does not have a full-service history, an additional check may be required alongside the routine inspection before eligibility can be confirmed.

Importantly, Nissan Battery Electric Vehicles continue to be supported by a separate Lithium-Ion Battery Warranty for up to eight years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first.

Used Nissan EVs are included too

The programme is not limited to new-car buyers. Drivers of pre-owned All-New MICRA, All-New LEAF and 2026 model year ARIYA models are also included, with similar criteria applying to routine servicing and maintenance.

As with new cars, used BEVs can benefit from warranty cover up to six years or 100,000 miles, with eligibility dependent on service work being completed within the Nissan retailer network.

Each inspection must be carried out in line with the manufacturer’s service schedule and before the existing warranty period expires in order to activate the next 12 months of cover. If the vehicle does not have a full-service history, an additional check may be required alongside the routine inspection before eligibility can be confirmed.
