Northern Irish helicopter emergency medical service, Air Ambulance NI, has benefitted from an incredible £34,664 boost following a year long charity partnership with new and used vehicle retailer, Donnelly Group.
Roisin Donnelly, Donnelly Group spokesperson, said:
“The crucial role that Air Ambulance plays across Northern Ireland aligns with Donnelly Group’s commitment to making a positive impact on the people and communities within the areas in which it operates.
“We have seen huge support from staff across our nine locations, with two employees even taking part in a sponsored skydive that raised a remarkable £3,712.
“As we conclude this successful year, we look back proudly on the contributions we were able to make to such a vital charity.”
Throughout the year, Donnelly Group staff have participated in various initiatives to raise funds for the charity, including abseiling down the Europa Hotel, participating in the Belfast City Marathon, and hosting a Christmas carol service, among other fundraising efforts.
Commenting on the partnership, Damien McAnespie, Air Ambulance NI fundraising manager, said:
“It has been incredible to partner with Donnelly Group over the last year and its remarkable fundraising achievements have greatly contributed to supporting our overall mission of saving lives, brains and limbs of individuals who have been involved in a serious trauma or medical incident.
“As a local charity, Air Ambulance NI aspires to raise £2.5million each year to maintain and sustain this service so public donations are crucial. We want to thank all those at Donnelly Group who have contributed, donated, and actively raised awareness throughout the duration of this meaningful partnership.”
Donnelly Group, Northern Ireland’s largest independently owned vehicle retailer, works with 18 manufacturers in its nine branches in locations including Bangor, Belfast, Derry / Londonderry, Enniskillen, and Mallusk.
