This year will see the fourth and now annual Greyabbey Classic Bike & Car Show held on Saturday 24 August at Greyabbey village hall from 11:00 – 16:00.
To date, this laid back show has raised £7,500 for various charities, with Cancer Research UK being the main charity over past years.
Although billed as a “classic” show, all vehicles of any age are welcome, catering for bikes, cars, trikes, mopeds, tractors & commercials, it highlights the ethos that anything of show interest is most welcome.
Homemade food will be available throughout the day with entertainment provided by ‘The Low Country Boys’, while a display of outstanding model planes will also be on display.
A focus on road safety will play a key part on the day with Ards & North Down Road Safety group attending, no doubt they will have a few goodies to hand out.
As always, there will be prizes and ballots available with the format remaining the same as before. Entry is priced at £5 for those exhibiting on the day (set up from 09:00 – 10:45) with an option to ‘arrive and dine’ allowing those who wish to, to avail of a discounted meal.
Event organiser, Paul Taggart, cannot thank the show sponsors and supporters alike, enough. Without either, the show simply couldn’t happen.
Paul commented “the show has grown from nothing more than an idea, to something the area and its community can be proud of; it provides something for all ages and raises money and awareness for some very worthwhile causes”.
Why not come along and enjoy a day out in the beautiful village of Greyabbey to round off the summer holidays.
