Leigh Martin from the NW of the province has been into drifting for many years as his father used to fix twin cams corolla’s when Leigh knee high to a grass hopper.

Leigh has had a good few rear wheel drive cars over the years including BMW’s,
Nissan skylines and a Nissan S14a and some time last year he thought it was time he took the financial plunge and build himself a proper track orientated drift car.
On buying this Nissan Silvia S13, it had some basic work done on it, but Leigh wanted it done right and took his time with spare cash and has built it to what wee see today bit by bit. The car runs a 2litre 16v turbo power plant with the power going through an LSD at the rear, making this car a very enjoyable drive on the drift track.
With help from his brother in law and good friend pony, Leigh plans more power from the engine as well as substantial suspension changes to help the car steer better and hold bigger angles for longer. Essential on these builds is an understanding family and even more so a very understanding partner, which thankfully Leigh has.
Leigh plans to do a full attack at the N1 Drift Series which will be held at Aghadowey and Ballykelly circuits as well as some UDC events at bishopscourt and the like. All at UCNI would like to wish him the nest for the coming season.
