Stormont Shines for Classics in the Sun
Dollingstown Classic Car Club hosted their annual Stormont Classic Car Show on Saturday 13 June, and for the 2026 event, Mother Nature was firmly on side. Bathed in beautiful Northern Ireland sunshine, the iconic Stormont estate provided the perfect backdrop for one of the most impressive turnouts the show has seen.
Year-on-year, this event continues to get bigger and better, with all types of cars and bikes welcomed alongside almost everything auto-related in between. The entry fee once again went in its entirety into the charity pot, ensuring that the day was about far more than polished paintwork, chrome, horsepower and nostalgia.
What an absolutely incredible turnout it was. From roaring supercars and pristine vintage classics to retro daily drivers, the grounds were packed with automotive history, passionate owners and admiring spectators enjoying great chats and a relaxed community atmosphere.
But the real showstoppers stealing the spotlight this year were the legendary DeLorean DMC-12s, celebrating a massive 45th anniversary. There is nothing quite like seeing a row of those iconic gull-wing doors lifted into the sunshine, especially here in Northern Ireland, where the stainless-steel legend began.
The DeLorean lineup was a stunning tribute to 45 years of stainless-steel history, drawing crowds throughout the day and creating one of those unforgettable Stormont sights: gull-wing doors raised high, bright bodywork catching the light, and enthusiasts sharing stories around cars that remain every bit as captivating today.
Across the grounds, every era of horsepower was beautifully represented. The mix of classics, modern performance machinery, rare finds and everyday retro heroes gave visitors plenty to enjoy, with the stunning backdrop of Parliament Buildings adding to the occasion.
As always, the charitable fundraising efforts were at the heart of the event. Dollingstown Classic Car Club and its volunteers helped create a day that combined motoring passion with generosity, bringing together owners, families, clubs and visitors in support of NIPANC and Action Cancer.
The Sporting Bears also added to the excitement, with members of the non-profit motoring charity once again helping to raise money for children’s charities through memorable passenger experiences. With a donation, guests could enjoy the thrill of a ride in something truly special, adding another crowd-pleasing dimension to the show.
For those unable to make it, the day was the kind of event that begged to be captured: the DeLorean lineup, the classics and supercars, the atmosphere, the crowds, and the community spirit all coming together under clear skies.
Stormont has long been a special setting for classic motoring, but with sunshine overhead, a sea of cherished vehicles across the estate and a landmark DeLorean anniversary to celebrate, the 2026 show felt like a true highlight in the local motoring calendar.
