Fancy a gift that keeps on giving this Christmas? Then plan a trip to Rally School Ireland (RSI) for some high-octane, adrenaline fuelled action!
The popular rally school, which is based just outside Scotstown in County Monaghan, has recently added two super exciting, brand spanking new cars to their fleet of driving experience vehicles that already include supercar favorites such as Ferrari and Porsche. Adding a new dimension to their offerings are the KTM X-Bow and Ariel Nomad – the only two of their kind on the Emerald Isle!
The new four-wheeled recruits strengthen the line-up at RSI as the company bolsters its already strong business which has seen literally thousands of customers burst through their doors since opening in 1999. RSI gives customers a unique opportunity to drive high-powered vehicles in anger while under the guidance of highly experienced instructors, and everyone is guaranteed to gain huge smiles on their faces!
Anyone from the age of 10 can sample the high speed thrills on RSI’s specially designed track in what is a safe and controlled environment. With a dual control Ford KA Sport in the fleet, those aged 10+ that can only dream of driving outside of their games console are able to experience life behind the wheel in real time – no virtual reality required.
Other highly popular, iconic and fully prepared cars include the Ford Escort Mk2, Subaru WRX STi, Toyota GT86, Nissan 350z drift car, BMW M3, Porsche 911 and Ferrari 355, as well as the brand new additions – the KTM X-Bow GT and Arial Nomad.
Also on offer are rally licence courses affiliated with Motorsport Ireland. Any keen driver thinking of taking up competition can be put through the plethora of technical and safety information ahead of their first event. Once they’ve passed the several elements involved, a competition licence is granted.
RSI was set up 17 years ago by David, Malachy and Veronica Smyth and has since developed into Ireland’s premier motorsport centre. There is something for everyone and the purpose built 1.1km asphalt track in the County Monaghan countryside is conveniently situated, being less than two hours from both Belfast and Dublin by car.
With 10 staff across the business, there is a very personal element to the driving experience. There’s a lot of ‘craic’ from the moment you arrive in reception and with the instructors who are full of encouragement when you’re on track.
It is this encouragement that makes it so much fun and a lot can be learned when it comes to driving fast but safe. There are a lot of disciplines on offer from rallying to drifting, right through to supercars, with something to suit all men, women, teens and kids in between.
Managing Director, David Smyth, said: “The key to the success of Rally School Ireland is down to hard work and commitment in giving the customer an amazing day that they will never forget. We have new cars, new helmets, new overalls and we offer the most exciting range of rally cars, supercars and drift cars in Ireland.”
He finished with a smile: “Drive the best, drive with us!”
