North West motor retailers Eakin Bros expand their long established business with the opening this week of a new purpose built showroom facility in Maydown, Londonderry.
The 8,000 square foot building occupies a prime 2 acre industrial estate site just off the A2 Londonderry/Coleraine artery, with fast road links serving the province’s second City and surrounding area.
Established 96 years, the family firm is in its fourth generation; grandfather Jack Eakin, sons John and Peter and grandson Joel are all actively involved in the business on a daily basis.
Investing over £1M in this project, Eakin Bros employ 35 local skilled staff and plan to add to that number through continued expansion.
Their Isuzu pick-up franchise relocates to Maydown from their Claudy base, and Eakin Bros are celebrating their new appointment as Arctic Truck dealers, a specialist conversion of the best selling Isuzu D-Max pick-up range.
The newest model from Arctic Trucks – the Limited Edition Safir – made its first UK dealer appearance in Maydown and is number one of only ten very special numbered builds of this model. Isuzu Fleet Centre status transfers to Maydown, offering specialist servicing and facilities to pick-up business users.
Eakins are longstanding, multiple Award winning Isuzu dealers and pride themselves in delivering exceptional customer care and after-sales support to compliment the manufacturer’s comprehensive five year/125,000 mile warranty and Eurocover package.
Brian James Trailers and Eakins Used Car Centre will also operate from the new site, providing a great selection of quality new and pre-owned vehicles and equipment and a bespoke buyer experience to help locate the used vehicle of your dreams – if not in stock the Eakin team will endeavour to source and supply cars to individual customer requirements.
The new site has a state of the art 8 car showroom, fully equipped 5 bay workshops, ample parking and over 60 used vehicles always on site to choose from.
It is finished to the highest standards throughout, with an excellent waiting area and WiFi connectivity for customers on the move. The upper floor of the building houses an extensive parts stockholding – essential to keep customers moving throughout the year.
“We’re delighted to make this long planned investment a reality, and lay solid founds for the business’s progression” said Jack Eakin “Our customers have stuck loyally with us down the years, and we are grateful for their continued custom.
We will maintain focus on great personal service, a warm welcome on every visit, and great value for money. Whether you’re in for a valet, regular maintenance, or a new or used pick-up or trailer we intend to delight our customers with good old fashioned first class service – but now from a state of the art, five star facility.”
Eakins will continue to operate Iveco, LDV, Isuzu Trucks and Tacho Centre from their Claudy site.
