Rounding out the inaugural Buggy Ireland Championship, the prize night and social for drivers took place at the Seagoe Hotel, Portadown to be the perfect wind-down and conversation starter for the incoming 2025 season.
The big winner on the night was overall champion, Kevin Meenagh who fended off over 120 registered competitors to win in a 1000cc Division 1 Casmat thanks to three podium finishes, including an event win.
Aside from the division awards, Newry’s Jermey O’Brien won the Yaccarcross Ireland Masters Trophy with a strong show of support for the all-new championship.
Winning drivers collected personalised trophies with photography from the season included. The three division winners, Meenagh, Thomas Wedlock and Chris Irwin were also treated to a free dyno voucher courtesy of Holeshot Racing, thanks to fellow competitor Jarrod Frost.
“It is a huge task to organise an event, never mind a championship – but what a year it was. To bring events like this to Kirkistown (twice), Bishopscourt and St Angelo proved to be popular and indeed that first event back in March was the first all-crosskart event to be held on the island of Ireland,” said Event Director, William Neill.
“I think we really surprised people when the Buggy Ireland Championship was announced but right from the off the support was huge. Now we must build on the opening events and go forward.”
Sponsors of the Buggy Ireland Championship are Karcher Ireland, Three One Solar, Goldspeed/Riddell ATVs, Casmat UK & Ireland, MV Racing, Yacarcross Ireland, NeillPics, Holeshot Racing, Labase Ireland, LDR Buggy Hire, Gordon Automotive and Trailertek.
The 2025 Buggy Ireland Championship calendar is being finalised and details can be expected at www.buggyireland.com and social media accounts on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.
