Blackwater Graphics Charity BBQ Raises £7,300 for Children’s Kidney Fund NI
Blackwater Graphics’ annual Charity BBQ has raised an incredible £7,300 for Children’s Kidney Fund NI, with an estimated 800 people attending the event on Friday 4th September.
The annual event, hosted by Blackwater Graphics, brought together motoring enthusiasts, families and members of the local community for an evening celebrating all things automotive while raising money for a very worthwhile cause.
The event featured an impressive selection of cars, motorbikes and lorries, alongside a packed programme of demonstrations, displays and activities.
A major attraction was a live vehicle cutting demonstration by the Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service, giving attendees an insight into the techniques used by emergency crews when dealing with road traffic collisions.
The PSNI Interceptor Team also attended with one of their marked cars and motorcycle, while visitors were treated to an exciting trials bike display by Trialstar.
There was entertainment for all ages, including a model aircraft display by Banbridge Aeromodelling Club and slot car racing provided by Rallyeslot, while a range of food and refreshments was available throughout the evening. Food vendors included Brennan’s Ice Cream, The Rolling Grind and Pennies for Candy, alongside a BBQ operated by hard working volunteers provided by Unite Energy and Blackwater Graphics staff.
The event would not have been possible without the support of the many businesses, organisations, exhibitors, volunteers and individuals who contributed their time, services and sponsorship.
Commenting on the success of the evening, Andrew from Blackwater Graphics said:
“We are absolutely delighted with the response to this year’s Charity BBQ. To welcome around 800 people and raise £7,300 for Children’s Kidney Fund NI is a fantastic achievement, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make the evening possible.
“The atmosphere throughout the event was brilliant, and it was great to see so many families and motoring enthusiasts coming together to support such an important cause. We would like to thank every sponsor, contributor, exhibitor, volunteer and member of the public who supported us.”
Stephen Watson MBE, Patron of Children’s Kidney Fund NI stated, “A huge thank you to Blackwater Graphics for their generous donation to the Children’s Kidney Fund NI. Your support means so much and will make a real difference to families and children.
We’re also incredibly grateful to everyone who turned up – your presence and support made the evening really special. Thank you all!”
The £7,300 raised will go towards supporting the work of Children’s Kidney Fund NI, helping children and families affected by kidney disease across Northern Ireland.
Looking Ahead to 2027
With this year’s event now successfully wrapped up, attention is already turning to next year’s Charity BBQ — which promises to be a particularly special occasion for Blackwater Graphics.
2027 marks the company’s 20th anniversary, and the team plans to celebrate the milestone by making next year’s Charity BBQ bigger and better than ever.
The chosen charity for the 2027 event is the Air Ambulance NI, with Blackwater Graphics hoping to build on this year’s £7,300 fundraising total and raise a significant amount to support the vital work of the charity.
Further details about next year’s event will be announced in due course. Event imagery courtesy of Projektied.
