The Car That Changes the Game: Meet the All Electric Volvo EX60

Volvo is making one of its boldest moves yet into the electric future with the launch of the all‑new, all‑electric Volvo EX60—a mid‑size SUV designed to remove the final barriers to going electric and redefine what customers can expect from the segment.

Positioned in the world’s largest electric vehicle market segment, the five‑seat, family‑friendly EX60 combines class‑leading range, rapid charging, advanced technology and competitive pricing. According to Volvo, it’s not just another electric SUV—it’s a turning point.

At the top of the range, the EX60 offers an impressive up to 503 miles of driving range in all‑wheel‑drive form—more than any electric Volvo to date and ahead of newly revealed rivals. Charging is equally uncompromising: using a 400kW fast charger, drivers can add up to 211 miles in just ten minutes, turning range anxiety into what Volvo calls “range comfort.”

Customers can choose from three powertrain options, including rear‑wheel and all‑wheel‑drive variants, with seven configurations overall to suit different lifestyles. Volvo backs the EX60 with a 10‑year battery warranty, and in Sweden, early customers will benefit from three years of free home charging, with other markets to follow.

Underpinning the EX60 is Volvo’s new SPA3 electric architecture, paired with the brand’s HuginCore computing system. Innovations such as cell‑to‑body battery technology, next‑generation in‑house e‑motors and mega casting improve efficiency, reduce weight and help deliver the lowest carbon footprint of any fully electric Volvo—on par with the smaller EX30.

Design remains unmistakably Scandinavian. A low nose, sloping roofline and tapered body sides deliver a sleek silhouette and an aerodynamic drag coefficient of just 0.26. Inside, a flat floor and long wheelbase maximise rear legroom and cargo space, while natural materials and clever storage create a calm, premium cabin.

Technology is another headline act. The EX60 is Volvo’s most intelligent car yet and the first to launch with Google’s Gemini AI assistant, enabling natural, conversational voice interaction. A fast, no‑lag infotainment system and a 28‑speaker Bowers & Wilkins audio setup with Dolby Atmos further elevate the experience.

True to Volvo tradition, safety is paramount. Advanced sensor systems, a strengthened safety cage and the world‑first multi‑adaptive safety belt help the EX60 exceed regulatory standards, while over‑the‑air updates ensure it continues to improve over time.

Alongside the standard model, Volvo has also revealed the EX60 Cross Country, bringing rugged design, increased ride height and exclusive styling details to drivers with a “go anywhere” mindset—without compromising electric performance.

With orders now open across Europe and deliveries starting this summer, the Volvo EX60 signals a confident new chapter for the brand—and a compelling glimpse of the electric mainstream.
