Round 5 of the ANICC Millers Oils Hillclimb Championship took place on Saturday 25th May 2019. The event had 64 starters and was to be a very cloudy day with rain threatening to strike at any time, but it held off for it to be a mainly dry day.

The name O’Connell is well established in motor sport circles in Ireland. The Dungiven based brothers; Gerard and Seamus, along with Seamus’ son Tommy have entertained fans for many years and have the cars and the trophy cabinet to boot.

This seasons ANICC Millers Oils Northern Ireland Hillclimb Championship was quite possibly one of the most hotly contested in recent years and it was Dungiven’s Gerard O’Connell who defied all odds to be crowned king!
