In this blog post our resident reporter Graham Curry went to Roadside Motors (at their site just outside Lurgan) and asked General Manager Paul Greenfield to give us a insight into the dealership…
Dealership:
Roadside Motors
Where are you based?
Lurgan
How long have you been in business?
Over 30 years
How many staff do you have across your business?
28
What is the key to your success?
We always strive to deliver the best possible service at affordable prices.
How is the industry right now?
The industry is still in recovery and very competitive making deals better than ever for the customer.
What could the Government do to help the trade?
I suppose overall transaction price is still the key for most consumers if VAT was lower this would bring the prices down further, also company car tax can be an issue.
What’s your most expensive Car?
On site we have Citroen, Suzuki, Seat and 100 plus pre-owned vehicles so I guess we cover all bases, but a top of the range Seat Alhambra is in excess of £34000
What could you offer someone on a shoestring budget?
At the moment we have New Cars with monthly payment deals from £99 deposit and £99 per month or a great selection of used cars which start from £2995!
What’s the most special Car you have ever sold?
It’s very hard to remember one in particular but many many years ago the first car I ever sold which was an MGTF, a very gracious customer who had to put up with a very nervous sales man.
What do you drive yourself and why?
Like anyone in car sales I love to drive the newest vehicle we have so I don’t just know the facts and figures but how it actually works for a busy family in all situations. Currently the New Suzuki Vitara (which UsedCars NI reviewed recently) is the car I like to drive when I can get the keys as it always seems to be in demand.
What’s your best tip for someone looking for a Car at the moment?
There is so much choice and good deals to choose from but make sure you get down to a long established dealership which has a proven track record of good service and delivery. Somewhere you feel comfortable with the sales team and they take time with you.
What do you like to do when you’re not at work?
When not at work I have three wonderful children Amy aged 9, Caleb aged 7 and Sophia aged 3 who always have plans for my wife Fiona and I from cycling to football and hockey and trips to the North Coast.
In no more than 50 words, tell our readers why someone looking for a Car should go and see you?
Looking for a car is a big decision we all have to make, with so much information available on-line it still very important to drive and be sure your purchase meets all your requirements. We pride ourselves on a no pressure environment where you can come in and get as much information and assistance required, and a good long test drive before purchase.
