Hyundai Opens Order Books for New IONIQ 6 N

Hyundai Motor UK has confirmed pricing and full specifications for the new IONIQ 6 N, marking the latest expansion of the brand’s high‑performance N sub‑brand into the electric saloon segment.

Building on the success of the IONIQ 5 N, the IONIQ 6 N has been engineered to deliver heightened driving engagement while adhering to Hyundai N’s three‑pillar philosophy of Corner Rascal, Racetrack Capability and Everyday Sports Car. While sharing its E‑GMP underpinnings with the 5 N, Hyundai says the 6 N offers a distinct character, driven by its lower, more aerodynamic saloon body style and bespoke chassis tuning.

Chassis and Performance Enhancements

Key to the IONIQ 6 N’s dynamic focus is a re‑engineered chassis featuring revised suspension geometry, stroke‑sensing electronically controlled suspension (ECS) dampers and a lowered roll centre. These upgrades are designed to improve grip, stability and high‑speed confidence while maintaining everyday comfort through new bushing applications and refined mount damping.

An electronic limited‑slip differential (e‑LSD) continues to play a central role, actively managing torque distribution across the rear axle to enhance cornering traction. Additional improvements to axle stiffness and steering precision further contribute to ride refinement and driver feedback across varied road surfaces.

Powertrain and Driving Experience

The IONIQ 6 N is powered by a dual‑motor, all‑wheel‑drive configuration, delivering up to 650 PS and 770 Nm when N Grin Boost (NGB) is engaged. This enables a 0–62 mph time of 3.2 seconds with N Launch Control and a top speed of 160 mph, placing it among the fastest electric performance saloons on sale.

Hyundai has further enhanced the driving experience with an evolved N e‑Shift system, featuring shorter virtual gear ratios, and an upgraded N Active Sound+ system, both designed to deliver greater engagement. Fully customisable N drive modes, steering‑wheel‑mounted buttons and driver‑focused controls allow owners to tailor the car’s performance characteristics to their preferences.

Design and Interior

Visually, the IONIQ 6 N takes inspiration from the updated IONIQ 6 design, complemented by N‑specific styling elements such as 20‑inch five‑spoke alloy wheels, widened front and rear fenders and a prominent rear wing, all contributing to improved high‑speed stability and a more aggressive stance.

Inside, the cabin is focused on performance driving, featuring N bucket seats trimmed in Alcantara and leather, N‑exclusive metal pedals and additional knee support for enhanced comfort during aggressive cornering. Premium touches include N logo welcome lighting and the latest Hyundai CCnC infotainment system, balancing motorsport inspiration with everyday usability.

Pricing and Availability

The IONIQ 6 N will be offered in the UK as a single, fully‑loaded specification, priced from £65,800 on the road. Optional extras are limited to a tilt‑and‑slide Vision Roof and a choice of six exterior colours, including Performance Blue pearl, Abyss Black pearl and Gravity Gold matte, with prices ranging from no‑cost to £1,250 depending on finish.

Ashley Andrew, President of Hyundai & Genesis UK, said the IONIQ 6 N builds on the momentum of the IONIQ 5 N, noting strong UK demand for Hyundai’s first electric N model and expressing confidence that the 6 N will resonate with enthusiast drivers seeking both performance and everyday practicality.
