2025 HILLCLIMB REVIEW…

The typically silent hills above Holywood in County Down come alive each spring to the sounds and smells of racing cars and 2025 was no different as the ANICC Motorsport Supplies Hillclimb Championship got underway in April.
Here’s how the season unfolded:
Round 1 - 12th April – TSCC, Croft.
Tim Woodside took the win, adapting to his recently acquired Gould instantly. Scott McMullan finished the event in second, with Chris Nelson rounding off the rostrum.
In the categories, Dan Campbell got off to winning ways in the Modified Saloon Championship. Tommy Murray got maximum points in the Roadgoing Saloon Championship. With Jack Boal taking the honours in the Specialist Category.

Round 2 - 3rd May – UAC, Craigantlet.
Tim Woodside took the win, proving a force to be reckoned with. Ryan McGimpsey finished the event in second, with brother, Richard McGimpsey rounding off the rostrum.
In the categories, Ian Lancashire took top points in the Modified Saloon Championship. Tommy Murray got maximum points in the Roadgoing Saloon Championship. With Jack Boal taking the honours in the Specialist Category.
Round 3 - 17th May – Omagh MC, Spamount.
Tim Woodside claimed another win. Richard McGimpsey finished the event in second, with Scott McMullan rounding off the rostrum.
In the categories, Ian Lancashire hauled another top points finish in the Modified Saloon Championship. Tommy Murray got maximum points in the Roadgoing Saloon Championship. With David McClurg taking the honours in the Specialist Category.

Round 4 - 14th June – Newry & District MC, Drumhorc.
Event cancelled due to adverse weather.
Round 5 - 27th June – Larne MC, Cairncastle Day 1.
Richard McGimpsey claimed another win on what is the longest hill in the series, which runs over two days. Scott McMullan finished the event in second, with Ryan McGimpsey rounding off the rostrum.
In the categories, Ryan Murray took the top points in the Modified Saloon Championship. Tommy Murray got maximum points in the Roadgoing Saloon Championship. With Jack Boal taking the honours in the Specialist Category.

Round 6 - 28th June – Larne MC, Cairncastle Day 2.
Scott McMullan took his first win of the year. Richard McGimpsey finished the event in second, boosting his championship hopes, with Dan Campbell rounding off the rostrum.
In the categories, Dan Campbell took a commanding win in the Modified Saloon Championship. Tommy Murray got maximum points in the Roadgoing Saloon Championship yet again. With Jack Boal taking the honours in the Specialist Category.

9th August – Mid Antrim MC, Garron Point
Richard McGimpsey took the win, securing his first ever championship win by just one point. Scott McMullan finished the event in second, securing second overall in the championship, with Dan Campbell once again rounding off the rostrum.
In the categories, Dan Campbell took another win to secure the Modified Saloon Championship. Cameron Rawson got maximum points in the Roadgoing Saloon Championship, but it was Tommy Murray to clinch the championship. With Jack Boal taking the honours in the Specialist Category to secure another championship.
